Reach Salt Lake is the benevolence arm of the churches of the Salt Lake Baptist Association. It is one way we show Christ’s love to those in need. This ministry is staffed and funded by the generosity of caring people who donate their time and financial resources. They believe in sharing food, clothes, and household items with those in need and grasping that opportunity to help them know Christ and his love for them. You can be a part of this ministry by donating financially, praying fervently, or volunteering faithfully. Click on a link and join in this wonderful ministry now.
Report From January 2014
What an AMAZING month serving God and our clients at Reach Salt Lake! We shared 10,162 lbs of “Grocery Rescue” (from several downtown grocery stores) plus 16,088 lbs of food from the Utah Food Bank with 1,548 individuals. This number is composed of 332 families from 8 different ethnic groups. The amount of food that each family receives is based on their “family size”. Believe it or not, lately we have run out of cereal and corn which are two of the favorite items! Many of our Salt Lake Baptist Churches have stepped up to meet the “extra” needs that we encounter each day and for that effort we extend a HEARTY THANK YOU! If you would like to participate with all of us, you could throw a few extra cans of corn, tuna, chili, or soups into your grocery cart when you are shopping for your family. Take those to your local Baptist church or call 801-661-3820 and we can pick up your donation. Our God, Jehovah Jirah, is our Provider and as El Roi, He sees the need in our community. Personal care items are always needed as well as detergent for clothes and dishes. Paper items such as toilet tissue, Kleenex, and paper towels are items we do not receive from the Food Bank. Thank you for your prayers and support as we serve our amazing God and His creation!
