The Salt Lake Baptist Association is a voluntary missional fellowship of churches, linked together by basic Baptist beliefs, and a cooperative spirit which motivates us to work together to make a transformational difference in cities of the Wasatch front. The Salt Lake Baptist Association is defined by a vision and mission not language, culture, or geography. We are made up of many cultural backgrounds and language groups currently reaching from Bountiful in the north, to Provo to the south, and from Wendover in the west, to Park City and Heber to the east.

How do we begin the process of becoming a member of SLBA?
The pastor or church leader should meet with a consultant of the SLBA and obtain a written covenant to be approved by the church and signed by the churches representatives.
Do we have to have Baptist in our name?
No. Many of our churches do not have Baptist in their name. Churches are Baptist by virtue of their basic beliefs not by virtue of a name or title.
Are we required to affiliate with other Baptist agencies or conventions?
No. All Baptist entities such as conventions, associations, and national entities are autonomous organizations that work together voluntarily. Membership in each one is voluntary.
Does SLBA exercise any governing power over my church?
No. Baptists believe in the autonomy of the local church. There is no governance or authority over any local church. We believe the local church governs the church under their acknowledgement of Christ as the Head of the Church.
Can I as an individual join the Salt Lake Baptist Association since I am not a member of an SLBA church?
Sorry, no. The SLBA is an association of churches not of individuals.
As an individual may I attend SLBA training and events if my church is not a member of the SLBA?
